As an English speaker with little Spanish knowledge it’s always a little daunting to venture into an unknown restaurant. However, the staff were incredibly hospitable, patient and knowledgeable. The food was fresh, hot and scrumptious. The cherry on top was the beautiful ocean view along the Malecon. Just with we could have went a couple more times before our trip was up!
We went during slow season and it was rowdy. I cant imagine when its peak season, something i would love to come back and experience. The food was good, above average if you are really into authentic seafood. Definitely coming back.
The hot-spot in Mazatlan! (January 2024) On a recent port-stop in Mazatlan we visited El Muchacho Alegre for lunch, after seeing the great reviews online - and a wait at the front door! It is a busy and bustling spot, so if you are looking for a casual place where the locals go... you found it! The service was 4/5, mainly due to not every person speaking English and us not speaking Spanish - but they tried their best... when they weren't busy, it was sometimes hard to find someone for a refill, but worth the wait. The food was tasty and the drinks delicious, the perfect lunch when visiting the area - and prices where good too!
Excellent place to eat if visiting Mazatlan. Entire staff is friendly. Food is delicious and the music tops it off. Definitely coming back here. The wait time was a bit like 15 minutes since we did not reserve.
My favorite place to go! The micheladas are out of this world! Best ever! You got to try at least one! Trust me you won't be sorry!
Everything was good; except one of the managers or not sure the title, but it was one that we paid using the terminal to pay what we consumed. He was very unprofessional with employees and seems he was reprimanded them in front of customers. Very unprofessional behavior.
Oh so fun! Live band was liked by locals. We were given marshmallows on the table -- why?? To throw at the dancing pelican mascot!! Then he started throwing them back!! Food was good and plenty. Loved their hot sauce so much that we bought 4 bottles to take home. Fresh seafood and amazing shrimp and lobster. Drinks were big but a bit pricey compared to other places. Really enjoyed the experience!!!
Excellent coconut drink, lemonade, shrimp tostada, fish soup, seafood soup, etc. Lots of shrimps on the tostadas!! We had a great lunch!! Vibrant atmosphere! A bit too loud for us!! Love the view and sea breeze
